Exercise Physiology

Movement is such a vitally important part of our lives, and it is necessary in some form for optimal health and vitality. At Akeso Natural we focus on movement in two main modalities: exercise physiology and martial arts.

Exercise Physiology aims to assist clients with acute or chronic injuries as well as clients looking to optimize health and increase movement. Our head exercise physiologist Michael also specialises in martial arts training and incorporates that training to help those rehabilitating from an injury or children on the autism spectrum. He also offers his martial arts services to those looking to fight competitively or improve their boxing & martial arts skills.

Michael also focuses on working with clients that have chronic health conditions, and acute and prolonged musculoskeletal injuries. Unlike a physiotherapist, Michael focuses solely on creating tailored exercise programs that best suit the individual’s current health concerns and injuries. As the client begins to heal, Michael adapts those exercises accordingly. Michael looks at clients’ end goals and works backward to avoid any stagnation in healing.

Michael currently specialises in lower back pain, muscular injuries, diabetes, neurological conditions & mental health. Through NDIS or private means, Michael also specialises in children and adults on the autism spectrum and for other disabilities. Each program is tailored to the individual’s needs and aims to improve coordination, postural control, strength, mobility, agility, balance, and overall improvement, in the quality of life.

Michael is approved to accept when applicable Medicare, NDIS, Work Cover, and private health funds.
