Choc Orange Crunch Protein Balls

These are my favourite when needing a quick pick me up in the afternoon without significantly spiking your blood sugar levels. This is important as we are looking for that slow constant sugar burn throughout the day.

These will help keep you full for the afternoon avoiding that afternoon slump.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups hemp protein powder or any plain flavoured protein powder
  • 1/3 cup cacao powder
  • 500g pitted dates
  • 1/4 cup chia seeds
  • 1/2 cup LSA Seeds
  • 1/4 cup cacao nibs
  • 1 tsp orange essence
  • Shredded Coconut for Decorating

Method

  1. Chop Dates finely
  2. Put in a bowl and cover with boiling water to soak for 5 minutes
  3. Place remaining ingredients in a food processor. Pulse for 10 seconds
  4. Add dates and 3 Tbsp hot water
  5. Whiz together to create a paste
  6. Spread shredded coconut on a chopping board and roll 1 tbsp of mixture into a ball and top with the coconut
  7. once done, place all the balls overnight in the fridge to set.
